University of Chicago Alumni Club of North Carolina Leadership Opportunities
Alumni and Parent volunteers are what makes it possible to continue the University of Chicago community outside of Hyde Park. Due to the work of these dedicated volunteers, the Alumni Club of North Carolina has been able to grow and connect for nine years.
The Alumni Club of North Carolina is in need of volunteers who are interested in getting more involved in the UChicago community and help their fellow Maroons connect to one another. The general responsibilities include: attending 4 board meeting teleconferences annually, serving in their role for two years, and contributing to the club's mission: “Helping our members continue the journey they began at University of Chicago — intellectually, socially, and in our community.”

Board Member at Large - Programming
The board is looking for talented volunteers in the Triangle and Charlotte regions who can assist the Programming Chairs with leading events in their prospective regions of residency. Responsibilities of a program chair include: brainstorming event ideas, collecting board member event ideas, and organizing and executing event logistics (i.e. drafting venue contracts, strategizing ticket pricing, maintaining event budgets, etc) to name a few. Board Member at Large - Communications
Are you someone who enjoys social media and creating communications/marketing? Then the Alumni Club of North Carolina is in need of your help. This position is responsible for helping the current Communications chair with posting/sharing events on Facebook and with maintaining the UChicago Community Online (UCCO) webpage. Maintaining UCCO consists of sending out newsletters on a regular basis, providing event registration information to event leads, and creating event marketing. No experience is necessary as the University will provide digital training on using its webpage. Wondering what it takes to run the Alumni Club of North Carolina? Interested in a pathway to being the club's President? Then consider applying to be the club's Vice President. Help the current President with responsibilities that include: coordinating board meetings, managing board members' needs, and collaborating with the University's Global Engagement staff liaison. After a year in the role, the Vice President can decide if they wish to continue a two year term as President. Two candidates will be considered for the role of Vice President.
